Overview
Card Vault allows you to securely store client payment methods for future use. Stored details do not expire as long as the payment information remains valid, enabling one-click charges and automated billing without re-collecting sensitive data.
🔐 Security & Compliance
PCI Compliance: To maintain the highest security standards, ClientPay does not store CVV codes.
Persistence: Vaulted methods remain active until the card itself expires or is manually removed.
➕ How to Add a Payment Method
You can manually enter a client’s card or bank details into the vault:
Navigate: Click Card Vault from the left navigation menu.
Initiate: Click Add New Card.
Choose Type: Select either Card or eCheck.
Enter Details: Fill out the required fields (Email, Postal Code, and Account/Card numbers) and click Save.
✉️ The "Request Card" Feature
Instead of handling sensitive data yourself, you can ask clients to securely enter their own information:
On the Card Vault page, click Request New Card.
Select Send Email.
Enter the client’s email address and click Send.
Outcome: The client receives a secure link to a ClientPay form. Once they submit their details, the Charge button for that client will automatically activate in your dashboard.
💸 Charging a Saved Method
On the Card Vault page, click Charge next to the desired client.
Enter the payment Amount.
Select the Deposit Account.
Click Submit.
[!NOTE]
Processing Time: Charges made via the Card Vault may take up to 5 minutes to appear on your Transactions page.
⚙️ Managing Contacts & Cards
If a client’s details change or a profile needs updating, use the Action Menu (three dots) next to the contact:
Manage Cards: Update expiration dates or card details without needing to re-enter the full card number.
Manage Contact: Edit the client's name, email, or delete the contact entirely.
