How to Run a Charge

Learn how to manually process credit card transactions using the "Accept Payment" feature within your ClientPay account.

Overview

ClientPay's payment pages provide a quick and efficient way to process credit card transactions manually. Whether you are taking a payment over the phone or in person, you can complete the process in just a few steps.


Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. From the left navigation menu, click the Charge button.

  2. Locate the appropriate payment page (e.g., Operating or Trust) and click Accept Payment.

  3. This will open your payment page in a modal window. Manually enter the following information:

    • End user's name and contact information.

    • Reference details (e.g., Invoice or Matter number).

    • Credit card details.

  4. Confirm the details and process the transaction. Then, click Submit.


Why Use "Accept Payment"?

Using the Charge feature is ideal for:

  • Phone Payments: Securely entering client details while they are on the line.

  • In-Office Payments: Processing a card presented at your front desk.

  • Administrative Control: Ensuring the correct reference information is applied to the transaction by handling the entry yourself.
