How to re-charge a card

Learn how to process a new payment using a card from a previous transaction.

Overview

In ClientPay, you can re-charge a card from a previous transaction for up to six months after the original transaction date. This allows you to process new payments quickly without needing the client to provide their card details again.

πŸ’³ Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. In the ClientPay portal, select Transactions from the left navigation menu.

  2. Locate and click on the original transaction that contains the card you wish to re-charge.

  3. On the right side of the page details, select the Re-charge button.

  4. Enter the new payment amount and click Submit charge.


⚠️ Important Considerations

When re-charging a card, please keep the following rules in mind:

  • Fixed Data: The original cardholder information (such as Name, Zip Code, etc.) is locked and cannot be changed during a re-charge.

  • Excluded Transactions: Transactions that originated from a Schedule (recurring payment) cannot be re-charged.

  • Time Limit: This feature is only available for 6 months following the initial transaction date.
