Why am I being asked for a validation code?

Understand how ClientPay keeps your account secure and how to manage your login frequency.

🛡️Security First

ClientPay uses validation codes as a secondary layer of protection alongside your password. This ensures that even if someone discovers your password, they cannot access your account without your authorized device.

When will I see this?

  • Every 30 days: As a standard security refresh.

  • New Sessions: Whenever a new browser, device, or incognito window is detected.

🔧 Managing Frequency (Google Chrome)

If you find you are being asked for a code every time you log in, your browser may be blocking the "cookies" that remember your device. Follow these steps to allow ClientPay to recognize your session:

  1. Open Settings: Click the three-dot icon (⋮) in the top right corner of Chrome and select Settings.

  2. Access Advanced: Scroll to the bottom and click Advanced.

  3. Find Content Settings: Locate and select Content Settings to view Cookie management.

  4. Add Exception: * Find the Allow section and click ADD.

    • Copy and paste secure.clientpay.com into the field.

    • Click ADD to confirm.

💡 Important Note

Even with the correct browser settings, our system will still require a re-validation every 30 days. This is a non-optional security feature designed to protect your firm’s data and your clients' sensitive information.
