How to Use the Card Reader

Learn how to set up and maintain your ClientPay card reader for chip and contactless payments, including important Wi-Fi and charging requirements.

Updated over a week ago

Overview

ClientPay's card reader offers a PCI-compliant way to accept payments in-office, including chip-read and contactless options like Apple Pay and Google Pay.

⚠️ Before You Begin: Connection & Charging

To ensure your reader functions correctly, please note the following:

  • Wi-Fi Requirements: The reader requires a stable Wi-Fi connection. It does not support "captive portals" (networks that require a web-page login, common in hotels or coffee shops).

  • Charging: Only use the provided cable or docking station. Third-party cables may prevent the device from charging properly.
