How to use the card reader
Updated this week

Overview

ClientPay's card reader offers a PCI-compliant method of accepting payments in your firm's office. The card reader supports contactless payments such as tap-to-pay, including Google and Apple Pay, and chip-read payments. To get started once you have the reader, click here or watch the below video.

Note: Not all firms may be eligible to use the card reader. If you have any questions about the card reader or need to confirm eligibility, please contact our support team at 855-492-5995.

Tips

The card reader requires a stable Wi-Fi connection to accept payments, and does not support "captive portal" Wi-Fi Systems. A captive portal is a webpage that the user of a public network is required to view and interact with before they can access the network. It is typically used by airports, hotels, coffee shops, etc.

Only use the provided cable or docking station to charge the device. Third-party cables may result in the device not charging.

It is recommended to restart the device at least once monthly to ensure the latest software is installed.
